Loading a Module within an Article

This is a demo to show how to load a module into an article in Joomla 1.5.X . I have chosen the YOOslider module from YOOtheme for this demo tutorial.

This is how it's done?

Step 1

Prepare the YOOcarousel making by making a copy of it via the Joomla Module Manager. Rename it so it's easy for you to distinguish it from the other YOOslider that you have on your site. Publish it to a contentX position, eg content6 ( this is made possile by the Joomla load position plugin).

Step 2

Prepare a Section/Category in the Joomla Article Manager that will hold the article contents that the YOOcarousel will display. This Section/Category must have articles set to it as per normal and check that everything is published.

Step 3

Create another article. that will be linked to a menu item that will call up the new article containing the YOOslider. Here is an example of an article I created for this demo/tutorial purpose .

Make sure the module is enabled to all pages of your website

Here you can see the correct syntax that I used, { loadposition content22 } .

You will also note that I have positioned it within this article where I wish it to display within the article. So to recap, we have a copy of the YOOcarousel ready for this purpose in the Module Manager, we have content that will display in the YOOslider and we have an article that the YOOslider will display in. Just two more steps to go.

Step 4

The article that we created in Step 3 needs to be assigned to a menu, so we need to do this now.

Step 5

We now need to go back to the Module Manager and open up the YOOslider that we need to display in the Step 3 article. Assign it to display content from the Step 2 Section/Category. Make sure it published (to content6 position in this example) and assigned it to the newly created menu Item from Step 4.

Now open up your Joomla frontend and you and navigate to the Step 4 menu and open it up. You should now see your YOOslider published in the article. If its not then then go through the tutorial again carefully and make sure everything is published and assigned as described here.
