Super Backgrounds for Joomla

Responsive background images or slideshows for your website

We are proud to announce the release of Super Backgrounds for Joomla. This extension was developed after popular requests for a Modern and Fast, Light and Feature rich solution for easily adding responsive background images or slideshows to themes.

The plugin offers using a single Static image, Radon Static images that change randomly each time the page is reloaded, a Simple background slideshow, a slick background image Slideshow with navigation and thumbnails, or a slideshow that pull images from Flickr.

As usual, we have taken great care in developing and presenting this Extension to you. Tested with Joomla 2.5 and Joomla 3.1 and Wordpress 3.6. Also tested with all YOOtheme WARP frameworks as well as other popular template frameworks, like Gantry.

The plugin is optimised for the current generation of modern, CSS3-ready browsers. Due to its light-weight and efficient approach, It works beautifully and smoothly on all modern devices including smartphones and tablets.

Basic General Settings

Background Mode

There are 5 modes to choose from, namely Static Image, Random Static Image, Simple Slideshow, Advanced Slideshow and Flickr Slideshow.

Theme Class ID

Here is where you can enter the theme Class/ID that you want to apply the plugin to, eg #page or .tm-isblog .

Folder for Slideshows

You can choose a folder relative to your images directory that you can use for the Sldieshow modes and the Static random mode.

Static Image

You can choose a static image here, if you are using the Static Image mode. You can also easily upload an image/s

Simple Slideshow Settings

Transition Speeds

You can define a speed in micro seconds for the speed at which the images transition.

Fade Effect

You can set a speed in micro seconds for the image fade in and fade out.

Thumbnail Slideshow Settings

Autoplay Slideshow

Determines whether slideshow begins playing when page is loaded.

Never crop image

Prevents the image from ever being cropped. Ignores minimum width and height.

Prevent Landscape Crop

Prevents the image from being cropped by locking it at 100% width.

Prevent Portrait crop

Prevents the image from being cropped by locking it at 100% width.

Center Image Horizontally

Centers image horizontally. When turned off, the images resize/display from the left of the page.

Center Image Vertically

Centers image vertically. When turned off, the images resize/display from the left of the page.

Protect Images

Disables right clicking and image dragging using Javascript. If you use our Image watermark plugin, you can add a watermark to your images.

Allow Keyboard Navigation

Allows control via keyboard.Spacebar - Pause or play. Right arrow or Up Arrow - Next slide. Left arrow or Down Arrow - Previous slide.

Minimum image height

Minimum height the image is allowed to be. If it is met, the image won't size down any further.

Minimum image width

Minimum width the image is allowed to be. If it is met, the image won't size down any further.

Pause on hover

Pauses slideshow while current image hovered over.

Performance

Uses image rendering options in Firefox and Internet Explorer to adjust image quality. This can speed up/slow down transitions. Webkit does not yet support these options. 0 - No adjustments.

Random Slide Order

Slides are shown in a random order. start_slide is disregarded.

Start Slide

Set the slide the slideshow starts on. In the Core version, it controls which image is loaded, 0 causes a random image to be loaded each time.

Prevent Slideshow Loop

Prevents the restarts of the slideshow upon reaching the last slide..

Thumb Navigation

Toggles forward/backward thumbnail navigation. When on, thumbnails from the next/previous posts are generated and can be clicked to navigate. If the 'thumb' field for the slide is empty, it will simply scale down the full size image.

Transition Effect

Controls which effect is used to transition between slides.

Slide Transition Speed

Speed of transitions in milliseconds.

Flickr Slideshow Settings

Flicker API Key

Enter your Flicker API key here. An API key is required to get this to work.

Flicker Source

Defines the type of source that Supersized is pulling from.

From Flicker Set

Pulls images from a set. You must provide the ID number of the desired set (located in the URL).

From Flicker User

Pulls images from a user. You must provide the ID number of the desired user (http://idgettr.com).

From Flicker Group

Pulls images from a group. You must provide the ID number of the desired group (http://idgettr.com).

Transition Effect

Controls which effect is used to transition between slides.

Image Size to pull

The image size to pull - t,s,m,z,b (smallest to largest). Details on URLs.
